If you are adding the {{cleanup}} tag to an article instead of this page, please explain what needs cleaning up on the talk page. Problems that are obvious to you may not be obvious to other editors. Tags which are unexplained are subject to removal.

Just to let everyone know, as of 08:31, 18 October 2006 (UTC), 18,794 articles were tagged for cleanup, or 1.31% of the English Wikipedia's articles. Most of these articles can be found under Category:Cleanup by month and are not listed below. Anything you can do to help clear the backlog would be greatly appreciated.

[edit] December 16, 2006

  • Celadon (color) - Needs history on Western use, a better hex color, and alternate meanings removed. Phil.andy.graves 05:07, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Janitor (Scrubs) - Two sections with redundant information in the "Profile" and "Career" sections. --DavidFuzznut 09:17, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Angus MacAskill - This article is a total mess. It's not a profile of his life, it's an extended collection of stories copied and pasted directly from this website [1]
  • Kevin Nadal - Has probably been written by the subject. He passes WP:BIO, but a review of the article would be very welcome. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 23:34, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
  • The Pursuit of Happyness - In the opening paragraph there is a section purely of opinion saying that the movie is boring, this should be removed due to the fact that not everyone may feel that way about the movie

[edit] December 15, 2006

  • Richmond High School (Richmond, Indiana) - Alumni listed are not graduates of school; factual cleanup needed.
  • Spread of printing - Newish article with long list of cities taken from the German "Meyers Lexicon" of 1892. List for "Germany" therefore has strong POV issues (includes Prague, "Breslau" etc. Budapest is called "Ofen" etc. Creator of article has declined to do anything about it. Needs spelling of names anglicised, links created & some headings adjusted to NPOV Johnbod 16:12, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 14, 2006

  • The history on Oxana Fedorova is gramatically flawed. Typos (ex. nemed, instead of named), run-on sentences, incorrect article usage (a, an, the); couldn't have been an English speaking person writing this summary!

[edit] December 13, 2006

  • Eromanga - Disambig page gone bad! The article covers multiple subjects - ranging from a town in Queensland to Japanese erotic comics. The subjects need to be split up. QazPlm 09:52, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
  • The article about Ted, the United Airlines subsidiary, has been vandalized. Please fix it.
  • Rodney King - The section entitled 'confrontation' contains incorrect facts (arms broken) and seems fairly biased against Rodney King.
  • Seth Swirsky has been edited by the subject. This has led to some pov issues. The article has been cleaned up, but review by an outsider would be welcome. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 00:10, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
  • History of the Jews in France The article is badly written and obviously biased, some of the dates are incorrect and there are no citations or sources listed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.152.218.116 (talk • contribs).
  • Radu Duda, Prince of Hohenzollern-Veringen. I have started cleanup but could do with some help and advice. The article does not respect Wikipedia guidelines on Biographies of Living People, neither does it read like an Encyclopedia entry: it is more like an attempt to list all the possible and imaginable bad things ever written about the subject, who is a public figure. It expands on many minute details about Radu Hohenzollern that are useless and POV, it needs balancing. I started cleanup of the article before tagging it, as the more I advance in the cleanup, the more I saw that the article needs this process. I also see that Stefanp and some of his sockpuppets such as Carbunar,John Mathis, MihutM have been editing it, so a cleanup is certainly in order. Furthermore, the article has too many references, it litters the text, very many of them in Romanian with no translation, some of them quoting obscure little publications, (whether they are reputable or not is hard to assess), and uses as references unknown people as great experts on the subject. Stefanp and his sockpuppets have also edited King Michael of Romania's page in a similar way. The arguments on the Talk pages of both articles are illustrations of what I am writing here.[1]Marina C (2) 13:30, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Leg - Messed up and it doesn't really make sense. It's badly written and contains no external links or sources.
  • FullArmour Studios - Need's wikifying, citations, EVERYTHING. Don't know if it's notable or not, but it looks like a new article...--JudahBlaze 23:10, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Update: It's since been deleted and salted. Wintermut3 07:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 12, 2006

  • Wetlands - First paragraph is on edit page, but doesn't show up in entry.
  • Meiosis (figure of speech) - No sources, poorly written, examples and then an Examples section. Goyston 14:50, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 11, 2006

  • Abd al Hamid Ben Badis - This article is completely messed up, compared to the French and Arabic version of the article. --Escondites 05:29, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Alan Walker (musicologist) - This is a well sourced article that could use some cosmetic formatting improvements. It is currently rated as a 'B' held back from 'GA' only by formatting. Please assist. Alan.ca 10:29, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
  • AOL TV - Promotional, little to no information. - Mike Rosoft 18:17, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Jews for Jesus - This article has undergone so many edit wars that it has become a disorienting patchwork. Ancillary sections such as "Litgation" take upwards of 1/4th of the article, and the citation section involves lengthy block quotes that are confusing at best. Djma12 03:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 10, 2006

[edit] December 9, 2006

  • David Ritch seems to have been gleaned from a Resume and needs to be un-verbose-ified and tidied. I have taken a first swipe. I will also put up a wikify tag. Shagmaestro 13:14, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Turkey Bowl - Way too specific... and not a general definition( needs to be re-done) MacDude415 05:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
  • AMC and Jeep transmissions - Needs heavy wikifying and a major cleanup. --ApolloBoy 00:57, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 8, 2006

[edit] December 7, 2006

  • Peasant - needs reformatting, problems with tense, needs to be expanded.
  • Timmendorfer Strand – first paragraph is a stub, the rest is bad
  • SameGame - a bit too casual compared to Wikipedia standards
Hi, I had a look at it. Could you be much more specific about what you mean by "a bit casual"? Lovellester 20:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 6, 2006

  • Treatment_of_human_head_lice from the text: "I have assisted some who had lice for 7 or 8 years, until they receive help..." "TEN TIPS TO KEEP THE HEAD LICE AWAY"; is a how-to, additionally it contradicts Head_louse , might even better be re-merged with it. --84.159.169.175 02:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Muhammad_Yamin - just a wall of information. -Patstuarttalk|edits 09:50, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Supersaw - This page has to be among the worst in Wikipedia. Original research, unverified claims, jumbled prose and more are all here. Help! --Hypergeometric2F1(a,b,c,x) 09:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Gerhard Buchwald - Minorly notable German doctor and legal campaigner against vaccination. I have wikified the article stub, but it's seriously disorganized, and be be NN. —Vanderdeckenξφ 12:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Paul Bettany - long, too few sections, and a long list of awards could be cleaned up/shortened Betaeleven 14:25, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • The Da Vinci Code (film) - the Differences between film and novel section has been tagged for cleanup since October 2006, but it doesn't appear to have been entered on this page. The list is extremely long and needs some serious work. Betaeleven 14:31, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • My Parents are Aliens - Specifically the episode synopses. Not all the series are formatted the same way, it's been tagged for non-standard English, and some of the grammar and spelling is quite poor as well. More alarmingly, I found some plagiarism in the characters section, (and replaced it), and I'm concerned that the synopses might contain some as well. RobbieG 16:49, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • bebop - the Style section is just a giant block of text, needs formatting. --Shock 04:46, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 5, 2006

  • Patrick Madrid - clearly written mostly by the subject in the style of a personal statement or resume N6 03:08, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Gonk- Written in a completely unencyclopedic and jumbled manner. Lord Patrick 19:15, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Tydus Arandor 05:19, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 4, 2006

  • Turkey Bowl - Contains a gigantic and unnecessary list of past scores, should include more information as to other (general) Turkey Bowl eventsHéous 18:44, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Primo slides - in the style of a how-to guide. JRHorse 01:38, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Paracinema - This appears to be two separate articles, each with its own "References" section, smooshed together one right after the other. -Wayne Miller 01:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Rounds 2 to 9 of 2000 NHL Entry Draft need to be properly formatted. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 13:51, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 3, 2006

I went through the article and removed some of the more obvious spam but this article needs someone to cleanup the rest of it and to watch for more spam. --Banana04131 22:04, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
I have added more of my concerns regarding the article and added templates to the article accordingly. --tgheretford (talk) 09:30, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 2, 2006

  • Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (TV series) - unbelievably bad article. Goes into excessive detail on fictional elements of the show, most of which, if kept at all, should be in seperate articles. Much of it also reads like an essay - Рэдхот(tce) 21:08, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
  • United States Copyright Law - Organizational issues as well as lack of detail on critical components and excessive detail on minor issues; for more info see Talk page. LH 23:10, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Libyan-Chadian War needs a grammatical once-over; it looks like it was written by someone with a grasp of English vocabulary but not grammar, as verb tenses are frequently confused. I'll do it myself if it's not fixed after finals, but if anyone else would help that'd be great.
  • I ran through the article and did some purely grammatical/spelling editing. Mansfieldatron 5:14, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 1, 2006

  • Parc Nacional de Munchique, short article could use some lengthening or pictures. Ricefountian 22:15, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Grendel (band) - not structured, probably needs more info. Peter Vasiljev 04:30, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Sholiyar, newly created article by new user needs some work, to put it generously. ॐ Priyanath 05:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Samuel Colt - has no structure and makes references to things that are never mentioned. Not very clear to someone unfamiliar with the subject. 70.170.27.119 16:55, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 2006

[edit] November 30, 2006

  • Lizzie Borden, mainly the section of artistic representations of Borden. I've cut one duplication. There's so much there I think I needs to be sub-sectioned by genre, or something. or maybe Lizzie herself can take an axe to it. Shawn in Montreal 04:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Vanilla option from the Vanilla (disambiguation) - leads to another disambiguation page, none of which items listed referst to the topic in question. Jackiespeel 17:50, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
I think I fixed. It now links directly to the section on types of options, including the vanilla variety.Shawn in Montreal 05:00, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Powersgaming - Looks like a fairly notable gaming group, but most of the contents doesn't seem to be very encyclopedic. - Mike Rosoft 13:35, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Villanova College - Contains material copied from the school website [2]. Is there a version to revert the article to? - Mike Rosoft 15:18, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Ashe County, North Carolina - General spelling, formatting and syntax problems, someone with local knowledge would be useful. RHB 20:06, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Have done some grammatical editing. Still has no citations whatsoever.Monocle1 19:06, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 28, 2006

  • Jack And Ali - Article needs to state the radio station and location where the show airs. Personalities should have their own wikipedia pages, if merited. JRHorse 16:59, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
I've througly copyedited it, but I saw your PROD request, which was deleted by the article author, and think I agree with you. I dont think it meets WP:BIO - is a 2hour radio slot on a small radio station notable? I'd recommend sending it to afd. RHB 21:59, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Travis S Taylor - Article sounded like fan-speak, I have made some changes to the tone but some sections still lack citations. Metlin 18:51, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Done my part Dilane 05:38, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I've just copyedited the article too, some sections and paragraphs need to be merged, I think some ideas are being repeated several times. RHB 21:41, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
  • In the Berkshire Hathaway article, in the history section, the last line reads "Daddy loves little babies", which clearly has nothing to do with the article and can't be omitted via the regular editing process.

That vandalism has been removed already. RHB 21:59, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 27, 2006

  • Multi-agent_system - The article lacks a general description. There should be a long general description of MAS, and a short concrete example (not the other way round, as it is now) --JFromm 13:20, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Persepolis - A lot of good info here on one of the ancient world's most important cities, but it reads like it was written by someone who spoke a primary language other than English. The introduction is strong, but then it goes downhill. Lots of grammar and punctuation issues and some really weird syntax. Also, zero references. Dppowell 05:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Did some copyediting. Still has issues that I can't fix, mostly due to lack of familiarity with the subject and the fact that it was probably written by someone with English as a 2nd Language. I'm not familiar with the subject so someone else more familiar with ancient persia probably needs to look it over. Also, it needs citations desperatly. There's a good start on a solid article here, but it needs more work.--Lendorien 00:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Thorough copyedit and cleanup, sorted information into sections and put into prose. RHB 16:55, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 26, 2006

  • Gallant Man - This article looks and sounds very much like random commentary. The intro isn't so bad, however the rest is an utter mess. Needs to be organized and copy edited into a more professional tone.-- Ryckmonster 01:54, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
    • shorter sentences and reorg. done; gives a bit of rough reading but acceptable.

Dilane 16:46, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

  • St. Louis-style pizza - It appears somone has done a (poor) re-write of this article. Citation is needed to back up claims, and NPOV needs to be employed(i.e. you can't refer to the pizza as "savory", that's POV. I love Imo's pizza as much as the next guy, but this article need to be fixed. Gamer83 04:59, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 25, 2006

  • Eye dialect — this article lacks sections, has bad typography, and has too large a quotations:comment ratio. Raifʻhār Doremítzwr 02:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Mr. Do - Someone reverted my edits after I fixed it and removed it from cleanup in Oct, claiming they were unfair based on the fact that Pac-man has a long description. I hate to say it, but what it was reverted to is a lengthly unpargraphed mess of poorly worded descriptions of the game that make little sense, are hardly readable and are not needed for an article about a game that is as non-notable as this one. I personally think that what I edited to it would have been fine and more concise, but I don't want to create a revert war here by going back to it myself. Maybe someone else can find a happy medium. See my original edit here. If you make changes, post on the Talk page to prevent a revert war with the original author. --Lendorien 16:28, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Bartolo Colon - For a Cy Young Award winner, he sure doesn't have a lot on his page and his infobox doesn't even list the Anaheim Angels, the team she was with when she won the bathroom award. Definitely needs some work. --Mrmaroon25 05:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
She??? You meant he right? Besides that I'll see what I can do with it... Vic226(chat) 09:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
By the way, the infobox lists only his former teams, so naturally the current team is excluded. Nothing wrong with that. And I don't get what you are talking about the bathroom award, since it sounds like vandalism to me. Vic226(chat) 10:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Joseph Anthony - has unrelated info about a poet named Fiona Templeton attached to it that mysteriously does not appear if you try to edit it out. I'm at a loss as to how to clean this up. Thanks! SFTVLGUY2 19:38, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Cranfield - absolutely astonishing page which has many features of a good encyclopedia article.

[edit] November 24, 2006

  • History of Cuba - Cuban Rebels section has seemingly random information, and needs fluidity. Its kind of a mess, really. G.bargsnaffle 19:42, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 23, 2006

  • Real computation - Second section of this article has some POV issues.
  • Chinese language - Many sections are disorganised and do not conform to the language template recommended by the Wikiproject of Languages. Also, subsections are misplaced, such as loanwords, which shouldn't be listed under morphology and the content is quite difficult to read. Another discrepany is when you search for Sinitic languages, it redirects you to the Spoken Chinese entry; however, when you type Chinese languages, it brings you to Chinese language. The section on Chinese characters is still unnecessarily long even though there is already a detailed article on Chinese characters. And the whole entry is just too long, it is 57kb in size, some of the clumsier sections should be rewritten for sub-articles. I do not understand how this article managed to become a featured article before, or maybe it was much better. Please contact me if anyone would like to work together on this Shingrila 05:18, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 22, 2006

  • Alice Academy - Information on the article, mostly on the characters are very confusing... -210.213.159.187
  • Aureal Semiconductor - Minor punctuation, typo, and grammar issues. At least one "editing comment" appears in the body. Structure could use a cleanup. --Dan Hendricks 02:32, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Blood in the Face (1991 film) - Unwikified mess of words. The film exists; the IMDb link is kosher, but the whole page needs to be gutted and rewritten. WhiteLightning 03:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Gave it a runover. Cut the pov stuff out, edited it for style and pulled the tags. Could someone give it a once over before we pull this listing? --Lendorien 17:10, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Kevin Stevens - Needs simple help to clean up. Organization of the article is poorly laid out. Also, while the article appears to follow a chronological type description, it jumps all over the place leaving the reader confused. Simple headers and organization will do.

[edit] November 21, 2006

  • Xine - Needs references for the "DVD Issues" section.
  • Forest_School,_Horsham - indiscrimate and redundant listing of everything associated with the school 19:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • tattoo gun - The page on tattoo gun is problematic. Tattoo artists and educated consumers refer to them as "tattoo machines"", and there are numerous sources to back this up. Searching wikipedia for "tattoo machine" brings up nothing. I would like it if someone a bit more code-savvy than I am could rename the page "tattoo machine", and add a disambiguation link, or refer, from "tattoo gun". In the industry we know that when someone calls it a "gun" they're probably not that knowledgeable about tattooing, and I don't want wikipedia to sound uneducated about anything- especially my job! thanks, drop me a line if you can do anything to help.
--Resonanteye 08:54, 21 November 2006 (UTC)R.e.'s signed contrib edited to remedy format misconception. --Jerzyt 14:03, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Someone moved the article to Tattoo Machoine. Since they mispelled the word "machine," someone is prombably going to have to do a revert, delete incorrect mispelling and move it again. All beyond my limited knowledge. Help!--Lendorien 17:49, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Edith Pringle: Aussie pol activist -- PoV pervades article, largely via activist jargon, e.g. "rights" and "progressive" reflect how i'd describe her goals to my allies, but you might use "privileges" and "radical" instead. Excessive use of hdgs suggests desire to shout, perhaps in order to exaggerate significance of her details.
    --Jerzyt 14:03, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • With the slightest change of two or three words (not "progressive" and "rights", though.) this will be a slightly less toned article. It seems fairly factual and straightforward, though. Editing now.Resonanteye

[edit] November 21, 2006

  • Rashied Ali - Currently a mess of unsourced, unformatted articles, including one in French (???). I didn't want to revert back to a stub, and I suspect there may some useful information in there, but I don't have time to read through a dozen pages to find it.

[edit] November 20, 2006

  • Paravas - I have been editing this page for style and general cleanup. This page also needs citations and some consolidation of information that is repeated in the article in different places. I am continuing to work on this article but I think it will benefit from multiple hands.Dalassa 13:24, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
  • CA Scanline- I just wrote this article but since I'm new in Wikipedia I would very much appreciate it if somebody could help me edit this aticle to improve it since I don't think it is okay yet.
  • I went in and got the wording as neutral as possible. I had to cut many entire sentences out that sounded like an ad-it could still use sources, but it's a lot easier on the eyes now.Resonanteye 09:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Finished more clean-up. This article should be taken out of the backlog. Dilane 05:11, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November 19, 2006

  • Local area network - The referencing needs to be done better. There are references at the bottom but no in-text citation is provided.

[edit] November 18, 2006

  • Lindenholzhausen - Article looks like it was translated from the German wiki. Could use grammar copyediting and further translation from German. More info on talk page. -Wayne Miller 01:23, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Done a copyedit, needs someone with local knowledge really. The motorway names (B 451 etc) need context for the non German reader too. RHB 17:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

    • hope that helped, missing a lot of "the" haha Resonanteye 09:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Pot Noodle - Reads like advertising and appears to violate WP:CORP--Princess Tiswas 17:26, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Heinrich_Schliemann Nothing too serious here, just needs a stylistic edit to read more like an encyclopedia entry and less like a magazine.

[edit] November 15, 2006

  • The Touch - Needs major cleanup/wikifiying as article is "poorly" written and also a disambiguation page needs to be made for this name as there is other things relating to "The Touch" --Mikecraig 02:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Montreal Lacrosse Club - The first ever organized lacrosse team and the ones responsible for making the first written rules of lacrosse deserve a better article. Needs some general cleanup including just standard stuff.

[edit] November 2, 2006

  • Category of being - As a major topic in metaphysics, perhaps the biggest, it strikes me how poor this page is. It is clearly a mish-mash of different writers using inconsistent terminology (the poor quality is even reflected in the article's title: the article is called "category of being," even though the bolded word in the opening sentence is "categories of being." Before I added it, searching for "ontological scheme" did not even redirect there. I think an expert should rewrite the whole thing, starting off by giving the goal (to create a minimal, exhaustive, and exclusive list of all the fundamental kinds (no universal negative categories, or disjunctive categories) of things that exist) - i.e. a category has to "earn" a place on the list by proving itself to be irreducible to other categories, or capable of being eliminated entirely. In the second part, s/he should then list the categories that have been argued to exist (be generous in this part, since reductive/eliminative arguments will come next). And in the third part, s/he should discuss arguments for/against certain categories e.g. Hume argued that space and time don't "deserve" a category on the list because they are only constructs of the human mind.
  • Mechanics lien - This article could use some section headings to differentiate the subject matter of each paragraph.
  • Resveratrol - The subject of this article has been frontpage news world wide as a result of the release of results from a 'fat mice' experiment at Harvard (Dr Sinclair) suggesting that there is a possible escape from the generally undesirable consequences (liver, heart, arterial, metabolic disease, including diabetes mellitus) of over indulgence. This article does not do WP justice in that it is full of suggestive allusions, including to this (these) compound(s)'s use in the diet supplement industry, particulalry the unusual US version of it due to Congress having 'saved' the vitamin industry in the early '90s. Improvement can't be limited to textual review as some of the technical material also requires review. Given the news coverage, improvement is somewhat urgent. • Podiatrist Introduction is not bad, but the rest of the article needs a lot of work. Essentially there were too many pictures in one small section of text so I moved them until it looked better. • Jessica Drake and Brad Armstrong (porn star) - I have received several e-mails, apparently from jessica drake herself:
i'm relatively new to wikipedia, but i get emails from people all over the world about my entry on it. They are fans of mine, and they are questioning the source of the entry. you see, i'm jessica drake, Wicked Pictures Contract girl, and I am the person who last night made changes to the entry "jessica drake". First of all, my name is NOT capitalized. ever. this is my choice, not a proofreading error. also, that was my actual bio, i wrote it, so it is not copywritten by any other party. there were several inaccuracies in the original article, so i corrected them, and updated it. then you took it down. please correct this matter, or if you'd like, i can have the legal department at Wicked contact you or anyone else from Wikipedia.
Brad Armstrong, the porn star, not the wrestler- is my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. His entry is lifted straight from another site (violating that copyright thing you harrassed me about), and although he was married to Jenna Jameson, he was never married to Dyanna Lauren.
    • I have checked the contents of the latter article (using a simple Google search), and indeed about two sentences seem to have been taken from the IMDB biography or a similar source. This might constitute fair use, but the website should be listed as a source. (If the rest of the article can also be identified as coming from an outside source, it should be removed as a copyright violation.) Being Czech and not very knwledgeable about the porn scene, I wasn't able to verify the facts, but updated and moved the Jessica Drake article anyway. - Mike Rosoft 09:56, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Note that "jessica drake", in lowercase, is a trademark. However, if her name is Jessica Drake, then per common sense and provisions of the Manual of Style, we write it in title case, as with every other human being's name. We are not obliged to use the trademarked form, although we could mention it in the leader of the article. WhiteLightning 09:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Chikungunya - The new virulent form of this mosquito borne disease is now raging through India, having infected over 1 million people in the last few months. It has the potential to infect hundreds of millions in India and elsewhere in Asia, and to disrupt world travel. The bottom of the page has become a sort of bulletin board for breaking news and resources, and is in great need of attention. As infection rates can surpass 50% of a locality's population, and Wikipedia ranks #1 for a search on this disease, significant editing would greatly benefit those seeking information.

  • Egyptian burial - Poor grammar in several sections, and the section on The Indestructibles completely neglects the precession of the equinoxes, although the full article on the indestructibles is a bit more informative.
  • Abu Hashim - A disambiguation page, but it doesn't link to any other page. I also have no idea what the first point is about ("People call the people which comes under the prophet's tree...") and there is no assertion of notability of the second Abu Hashim. Aecis Appleknocker Flophouse 20:36, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
    • I did a little bit of cleanup on this, I think I salvaged the point of the disambig. • E-marketing, Online marketing - These two articles, with 100s of incoming links need a complete rewrite. There's a massive chunk of content in both articles which just refers to one book by Dave Chaffey, who originally wrote the E-marketing article in 2003[4] under the usename User:Dchaffey. The E-marketing article was expanded following this by various anons using only Chaffey's definition of e-marketing, and then forked out onto the online marketing article in which Chaffey's work forms the bulk of the article. Now maybe Chaffey wrote the absolute tome of intenet marketing and everyone in the industry uses his definition, in which case it would be OK. But I doubt that somehow. Online marketing and E-marketing need rewrites. Couple this with the fact that we have a un-Chaffey article at internet marketing which should probably be merged makes this a big job. - Hahnchen 21:20, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Marina (TV series) - Sorry for listing the article twice. I had attempted to clean it up, and now it's a mess again. One user in particular, BBlackmoor, is insistent that it stay this large and continues to revert any revision attempts to shorten, despite objections of others. Perhaps more consensus or splitting the article into "Filmography of Al Leong" or some such would convince said user, who refuses to listen to rational and consistently violates Wikipedia:Article size. Please see my explanations of my concerns relating to the problems of inaccuracy of format and other inaccuracies being introduced for the past week into the first article (Charles Jacobs) and since yesterday the second article (Harold Pinter) by at least one other editor, SlimVirgin. She is continually (over and over again) reverting correct format to incorrect format and also reverting previously-deemed unverified or unsupported information by putting it back in the article without any checking or knowledge of the sources or the subject of the article or the format styles. These reversions are continually introducing mistakes and inaccuracies in these articles of living persons and also violating WP:BLP and WP:Citing Sources and WP:Reliable sources, as well as policies relating to Wikipedia:Five pillars. If she and other editors commenting in the articles' and my talk pages are administrators, I feel that they are abusing their privileges as administrators and not maintaining NPOV or even common courtesy, much less stated Wikipedia policies re: respecting the work of others. I have tried to bring these problems to these editors' attention, but to no avail. They basically gang up on me and attempt to make it seem that I do not know Wikipedia policies, but I have read the policies, and I do know what they are. That is why I am lodging these complaints.

(Other problematic things are being done to the Charles Jacobs-related articles by some other editors as well.)

Please see the talk pages of the articles (and those linked in the CJ article. Please see the pages on disputes about "accuracy" and "clean up". Thank you--NYScholar 00:55, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Image:Death Penalty World Map3.png - this image is a (modified?) copy of Image:Death Penalty World Map2.png, which is on Commons. I have placed a tag at its description page to list everything that is wrong with it:
The same mistake has occurred as in the previous version: Libya, which is by no means abolitionist in practice, has been marked as such. The map needs a thorough check against Use of death penalty worldwide to make sure that no more errors have crept in. (Western Sahara has been changed from "abolitionist in practice" to "retentionist", and it does not appear in the list; are there any references to legal death penalty use [as opposed to extrajudicial executions committed by armed groups] there?) In addition, it is inconsistent to mark states which have abolished death penalty by the 1972 Supreme Court decision (or earlier by law, or - if there is such - had reinstated it after the verdict and then abolished it again) as abolitionist in practice, while marking states where death penalty has recently been abolished on the grounds of the state constitutions (often because of technicalities) as abolitionist for all crimes. I don't think that any state can be considered to be abolitionist for all crimes, and I am not sure that the AI classification is useful for them: even in the states where the death penalty doesn't exist the perpetrator could, at least in theory, face death penalty under the federal law (which did happen in Michigan). The claim that federal death penalty is not being used is not true, either - see Timothy McVeigh, executed in 2001. (Added by another user: The data for the Caucasus region is incorrect and waiting to be changed, as the map indicates that Armenia retains the death penalty in some form, whereas the table says the opposite.) - Mike Rosoft 18:46, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I have confirmed that Armenia has been marked incorrectly in all the versions. - Mike Rosoft 19:20, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Information on the Philippines is also outdated in Image:Death Penalty World Map2.png, since death penalty has recently been re-abolished there. (Image:Death Penalty World Map.png and Image:Death Penalty World Map3.png are correct.) - Mike Rosoft 19:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
I believe that rather than fixing this image, it would be better to delete both Image:Death Penalty World Map2.png and Image:Death Penalty World Map3.png, go back to Image:Death Penalty World Map.png, and fix the error with Belarus (as well as possible others). - Mike Rosoft 18:53, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Kansas is marked incorrectly. Kansas has not used the death penalty for a long time, however, it is by no means abolished.LH 18:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
As for the supreme court case, it did not abolish the death penalty, it was only as to the application in that case and as to that law. Inmates were still on death row. Either way, that is moot with the recent supreme court case (Kansas v. Marsh) (June 26, 2006)LH 19:06, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] July 25, 2006

  • Ari Fleischer -- The article reads, "The indictment states that Libby told Fleischer (referred to as the White House press secretary in the indictment) that Plame worked for the CIA and that this fact was not well-known. Such information, shared with a press secretary who talks to reporters on a regular basis, seems destined for a reporter's ears, and these hints suggest that Fleischer may have been Novak's original source." (bold emphasis added to problem area) The problem here is that the writer assumes that because Fleisher is the PS, he will tell the press everything he knows; including matters of national security. That is incorrect and a major violation of ethics and responsibilities in his line of work. As Fleisher himself writes in his book, Taking Heat (2005, p.246), "The job of the White House Press Secretary isn't to say everything you know to be true, but everything you say had better be true." To suggest that he would be obligated to share sensitive information such as this is incorrect and ignorant. While I do not believe WikiPedia should remove the entire section to protect the accusations made of Fleischer in this case, I do think they should edit that statement to avoid misleading readers to believe that he had an obligation or a tendendeny to leak sensitive information.

  • Fritz the Cat (film) - Nice article as is, but I'd like it to be featured-article quality. (Ibaranoff24 20:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC))
  • List of stars by constellation - No stars listed here, just a List of constellations, another page which already exists. This article should have star tables from all constellations' articles. --Kreachure 17:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Philosophy of environment -- Seems to have significant translation issues. As it stands it's very hard to understand what exactly is being conveyed. Needs significant copyediting --Daduzi talk 14:55, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Kishore Kumar -- The writing doesn't sound at all as if it's from an encyclopedia. There are many instances in which needed punctuation isn't there and the writing sounds like a conversation.
  • Pierre-Claude Foucquet needs to be checked for correct english
  • Wesley College, Colombo Data dump about a school in Sri Lanka, including long lists of "distinguished students" and teachers. Needs simultaneous trimming and expanding, but in different areas.

  • Teaching English as a Foreign Language -- No category, smells like SPAM, needs attention and expansion... also wikify to other see also topics.
  • Something For Kate -- The information is correct but the page is really badly formatted and it needs images.
  • Polish Catholic Church -- article appears to be a machine assisted translation of the Polish Wikipedia page, and need significant attention from someone who speaks the lanugage, or is aware of its context.

  • Nomad: This entry gives the impression that nomadism and pastoralism are the same thing. Pastoralism or animal husbandry is a subsistence method, and nomadism is not, although the term is sometimes used as shorthand for pastoralism. However, any society which does not remain sedentary for a significant length of time is considered nomadic. This includes most hunter-gatherers, but the entry makes no indication of this. Also there is no logical organization of the information that is presented. An expert's contribution would be best.--LC | Talk 22:52, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Ostia: Interesting article about the ancient Roman port town; needs some moderate-to-heavy cleanup of syntax and spelling. Reads like a rough translation from another language. Dppowell 19:52, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
I've begun the cleanup of this article, though it still needs some work. MeredithParmer 01:13, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Indian English - article takes a very patronising attitude to Indian English and a lot of bad English is being passed off as Indian English. Needs a lot of attention. - Cribananda 01:00, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Children's Bible Hour - article content appears to be based on CBH website or other material (e.g., note use of "we"). Needs to be reworked so that it can function as an encyclopedic article.--Kfranco 14:46, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Sveti-tskhoveli Cathedral - the previous Svetitskhoveli which was adequate if not brilliant has now been single-handedly moved to this title (on inexplicit grounds)- the original article is now lost and the replacement whilst full of detail is written in mangled English - is it possible to recover the original so that a proper edit can be done? - and is it possible to query the move now that it has been made?--Smerus 16:08, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Nichola Holt Horrible article that reads like something off myspace but I'm not sure what should go and what should stay.
  • The Alien Legacy. Not immediately obvious if this is about the movies or games. And if the Quadrilogy came out later, does Legacy have 3 titles or the 4 listed.--J Clear 15:13, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Use of death penalty worldwide:
    1. The map (Image:DeathPenaltyWorldMap.JPG), as well as its Commons version (Image:Death Penalty World Map.png), is incorrect: Belarus did use capital punishment in 2004, and so it doesn't constitute a country abolitionist in practice. - Mike Rosoft 09:59, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Banasthali Vidyapith - Marking as an article which reads like an advertisement, particularly since it is -- it's based (with apparent permission) off the school's promotional brochure. Also, it has no links and is missing much of the standard information (like quality information on academic programs) one would expect from a university article. Likely needs someone from India or who is personally familiar with the institution to tackle it. - Beginning 01:02, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Sir William Brockman. Just spotted this orphaned cleanup tag. I had a go a while back, but met resistance. • Royal Guards (Thailand) - This article is a total mess and barely in English. I fixed up the introduction with a major rewrite, but the rest of the article needs cleanup from a refereed source. Decadencecavy 04:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Marion College, Missouri - Notable as a former college, but like many former college articles, it's totally out of format. I've done a lot of these as of late and frankly would like a bit of a break. Sorry. :/ Beginning 23:00, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Drawball - Needs more editors to clean it up, and keep it clean. See Talk:Drawball. The article is one of the worst on Wikipedia, entirely full of unencyclopedic unsourced subtrivia. Every time an experienced editor removes something, it's replaced with more online webforum dick wagging over who has the biggest picture. - Hahnchen 03:48, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Lyn Duff - Too many external links, unencyclopedic style, possibly copied from somewhere. - Mike Rosoft 08:52, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Darkest Hour Needs to have sources and most of most of the article isn't written in a NPOV. New York Daily News Needs sources and has a bunch of weasel words. Jackyl reads like an ad. 71.251.20.73 06:13, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Daniel Coburn article is very poorly written and does not conform to WP:BIO standards. Also used to include lots of POV.
  • cross-dressing - A lot of good information, but poorly structured: too many very short paragraphs and bulleted lists; also incoherently ordered, e.g. the article begins with an explanation of details of the usage of terms before explaining main issues.
