[edit] Creating a global wikiproject

If it doesn't already exist to you reckon we should create something like Wikiproject:European villages and get other users to help out? I strongly believe that if wikipedia is to be taken seriously as a global reference point. the first obvious step to achieving this is to provide information on every place that exists on the planet but clearly me and you alone are not going to do this!! I am far from committed to doing all this as I'm sure you are too!! We would be just a small sub part in a sub project. We need to find recruits -tens of them across the globe to mapping out every place and to do this properly. Other people in other places can start Wikiproject:African villages Wikiproject:Asian villages, Wikiproject:South American villages etc. these could all be branched off into small categories by country e.g in Europe: Wikiproject:Hungarian villages , Wikiproject:Romanian villages etc. Wikiproject:Hungarian villages would be a part of Wikiproject:Hungary but which focuses on mapping out the country efficiently and properly. To be honest before I thought that Wikiprojects were not really that much use but I can see how useul they could be in organizing this into something much bigger.
