Plenty O'Toole is a fictional character from the film version of Ian Fleming's James Bond novel Diamonds Are Forever. She was played by Lana Wood, younger sister of Natalie Wood.
The shapely, dark haired, dark eyed Plenty O'Toole is a very beautiful young woman, and her beauty is enhanced by a low cut purple satin dress that emphasizes her cleavage. When we first see her, she is at a craps table in Las Vegas and the man she is with is broke. He asks her back to his place, but she tells him off and walks away. Her attention is called back to the table by James Bond, played by Sean Connery. She is impressed by his gambling skills and latches herself onto his arm. Bond uncharacteristically tries to send her away, but she proves quite difficult to ditch.
In a scene deleted from the theatrical film but now available on DVD, Plenty and Bond share a dinner together and she invites herself to his hotel room.
Plenty accompanies Bond to his apartment and kisses him out of the blue. Bond characteristically responds by undressing her — unzipping her purple satin dress, stripping her down to her necklace, her purple high heels and her transparent pink panties. Now almost completely naked, and anticipating a night of passion, Plenty excuses herself to her bedroom, only to discover several thugs there. The nearly naked Plenty is forced out of the apartment by the "perverts convention" and is thrown out the window, landing in the pool and surviving the fall.
In the completed film this is Plenty's last scene alive. Later she is found drowned in the swimming pool at Tiffany's house. The film never explains why she was murdered or how she came to be at Tiffany's place.
In a scene deleted from the film, Plenty, wearing nothing but a white towel returns to Bond's apartment in hopes of retrieving her clothes and is shocked to see Bond making love to Tiffany Case (Jill St. John). This scene has been restored on the DVD.
The next morning, Plenty visits Tiffany's house, presumably to confront her rival for Bond's attentions. Instead, she encounters Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd, who promptly drown her in Tiffany's swimming pool, either because they mistake her for Tiffany or because they want to silence an inconvenient witness. The discovery of O'Toole's body then becomes a major factor in winning Tiffany over to Bond's side.
