Bleach (manga)
Bleach is een manga en anime door Tite Kubo.
Het verhaal gaat over Kurosaki Ichigo (in japan komt de achternaam voor de voornaam), een 15-jarige jongen die al zo lang hij zich kan herinneren geesten kan zien en aanraken genaamd Plus(een geest). Op een dag komt hij de Shinigami (letterlijk: "god van de dood", ookwel "Soul Reaper" en "Death God" in de Engelse vertalingingen van de manga en anime) Kuchiki Rukia tegen. Ze is op zoek naar een Hollow die achter de Reiatsu ( Een Reiatsu is de spirituele kracht van iemands ziel. Iemand met een hoge Reiatsu kan bijvoorbeeld Plus' zien. Hoe sterker iemands Reiatsu, hoe sterker de geur is die Hollows ruiken) van Ichigo aan zit. Rukia zweeft Ichigo's kamer in, zij weet alleen niet dat Ichigo haar kan zien. Na wat geruzie tussen de twee vertelt Rukia dat ze uit Sereitei komt. Ichigo gelooft haar niet en lacht haar uit. Rukia wordt boos en behekst Ichigo met een Kidou spreuk, waardoor hij zich niet meer kan bewegen.
Op dat moment komt de Hollow waar Rukia achteraan zat tevoorschijn in deze dimensie. Ichigo en Rukia horen de zusjes van Ichigo, Karin en Yuzu, aangevallen worden. Rukia rent naar beneden om ze te bevrijden van de Hollow. Ichigo wil ook zijn zusjes beschermen en door z'n sterke Reiatsu bevrijd hij zich van de Kidou spreuk van Rukia, iets wat normaal alleen zeer sterke Shinigami kunnen. Ichigo rent naar beneden. In het daaropvolgende gevecht raakt Rukia gewond, omdat Ichigo zijn familie probeert te beschermen; Rukia duwt Ichigo weg, maar wordt zelf gebeten door de Hollow. Om de Hollow te vernietigen geeft Rukia haar Shinigami krachten aan Ichigo. Rukia wil ongeveer de helft van haar krachten aan Ichigo geven, maar door de kracht die Ichigo al heeft, neemt hij bijna al haar kracht. Hierdoor krijgt Ichigo een zwaard (ook wel zanpaku-to genaamd).Op die manier beginnen de avonturen van Kurosaki Ichigo en Kuchiki Rukia samen met een paar vrienden, waarin ze Hollows verslaan en zielen naar Rukongai sturen.
Er zijn op Dinsdag 6 September 2006, 95 afleveringen. Sinds Aflevering 64 zijn er fillers (seizoen die niet in de manga staat).
