ウォルト・ホイットマン・ロストウ（Walt Whitman Rostow, 1916年10月7日 - 2003年2月13日）はアメリカ合衆国の経済学者。W・W・ロストウと呼ばれることも少なくない。
独自の経済発展段階説を組み立てた。その中の用語である「テイク・オフ（離陸）」は広く人口に膾炙し、一時期経済史の議論にも影響を及ぼした（経済成長史学と呼ばれることもある）。
ニューヨーク市生まれ。1940年イェール大学で博士号を取得。オックスフォード大学留学を経て、コロンビア大学で経済学を教える。第二次世界大戦中および戦後、ヨーロッパの復興実務に携わる。その後、マサチューセッツ工科大学教授となる。ケネディ政権の発足とともに、国務省スタッフとなる。学生時代は共産主義者だったが、帰国後に転向し、リンドン・ジョンソン大統領のもとで、国家安全保障担当大統領補佐官としてベトナム戦争などに関する政策決定に影響を及ぼした。1969年に政界を離れ、テキサス大学オースティン校で教鞭をとった。
