[edit] Toshio Suzuki is the president

It should be included that Toshio Suzuki is studio ghibli's chief producer and president! he is an important member of the studio; thanks mainly to his efforts in getting films like Nausicaa made and jointly founding the studio with miyazaki and Takahata! The studio is becoming independant [1] by next march, breaking free of shoten and setting up with miyazaki, suzuki as members of the board. Nausicaa did not begin in animage, Toshio Suzuki used animage to pitch Nausicaa as it was originally rejected for not being based on existing manga, which at the time seemed like a bad idea to the japanese film industry. in the final sentence it should also be noted that animage ran so many articles on studio ghibli because Toshio Suzuki (he was a writer and eventually editor of animage) had become so involved with the studio. Toshio Suzuki originally published articles on Miyazaki's work after seeing the The Castle of Cagliostro. I can get more information, japanese documentaries place much heavier importance on Suzuki's role in the studio than the linked italien history site appears to. The documentaries i have seen are made by friends of studio ghibli and are included on some ghibli film dvds. If no-one objects i would like to rework the current paragraphs and write a little more history based on these accounts. will also look into adding the pronunciation which is Ji-bliDiscordance 02:16, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

As long as you use better grammar and spelling than in your post above, I don't see any problems. --nihon 18:23, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Heh, i will do ive just been dumping more and more notes as i find them on here Discordance 20:08, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Also make sure to cite your sources. - mako 21:52, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Studio Ghibli Films Template

I just created the template on the bottom of the page with the Ghibli films. For the pre-Ghibli flms I only includes Hols, Cagliostro, and Nausicaa became most of all the other "Pre" films are really only topcraft films, and really wern't either major films for Takahata/Miyazaki (Hols/Lupin) or started Ghibli (Nausicaa). For the Short Films, I only put the major four, but I think we can add the others, once they get a page for them, but until, I do not think we need to put any other shorts. [edit] Listed under "Animation Studios" category?

Shouldn't Studio Ghibli be also listed there? I see other anime production companies (such as Gonzo, Bones, and Gainax), yet no Ghibli.

Yes, go ahead and add it to the category. --nihon 22:04, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Logo

What are people's opinions on the logo? My impression is that the new smaller logo with bright blue background looks a lot worse in the article than the previous b/w logo [2], but I would like to know what other people think before going ahead reverting it. --Pasky 13:27, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

I actually like the blue logo. I think it works well in the article. --日本穣 21:07, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
I liked the B&W one but theres nothing wrong with the blue one now i thumbed it. Discordance 21:59, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation

Sorry its not policy but its part of the style guide, basically a non-native english speaker cant read pronunciations not in IPA, dialects are also a problem, IPA is the only accurate way of writing down the sound of the word. Discordance 23:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

The unfortunate thing is that 99% of the people out there have no clue how to read IPA or any other pronunciation guide. (^_^) --日本穣 05:32, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

The IPA page has some fairly handy links though, its not too hard to pick up on. I fully agree with the style guide, the english dictionary style pronunciations arnt good enough and if people have to learn some IPA to understand then good. Its ashame the individual sounds cant be linked at the moment, that would probably be the best way to help people understand the pronunciation. Discordance 05:44, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Game

I remember reading in Edge about a PlayStation2 game Ghibli co-produced in which you draw your own fighting characters. I don't know if anyone here know anything more about it, a name might be helpful, but I think it should be included on the Ghibli page.
