Sammarinese lira
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The San Marinese lira (plural lire) was the official unit of San Marino from the 1860s until the introduction of the Euro in 2002. It was on par to the Italian lira.
Italian and Vatican city lira notes and coins were legal tender in San Marino since the 1860s. However specific San Marinese coins were minted in Rome, being also legal tender throughout Italy, as well as Vatican City.
San Marino has switched to the euro like Italy. As with old San Marino lira coins, this country has its own set of euro coins.
