[edit] You now are a Nobel man/woman/otherworldly-creature

Because of your display of great magical potential, and your latent ability of wizardy you never knew you had, The Prophet Wizard of the Crayon Cake {Prophesize)has awarded you this delicious Great Stone of The Goat Cheese of The Arduous Bindage of Metaphorical Flax, for your great achievements in defeating tomfoolery and countering many nasty things. This stone is a gateway to higher, immortal enlightenment and the key to increasing your magical powers as a magician. But be warned, the goat cheese is a tempting treat to consume... should you consume it, then it will cease to give you immortal powers. Many a person has succumbed to the beast of desire, consuming the delicious cheese in a torpid rage. Egads!

Thanks for keeping a cool head. I think you'd be a pretty good mediator. -- The Prophet Wizard of the Crayon Cake {Prophesize) 21:21, 19 June 2006 (UTC

Thank you very much! I do try to make peace (I sometimes call myself "the cheesemaker" in reference to Life of Brian), but too often it doesn't work, which I find very stressful. Thanks for the help, the fromage, and the kind words! Karen 21:30, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disemvoweling (see also Archive 1)

Marky48's "back from the dead... hagiographer", "shill", and now "freak", together with his threat to "seek internal action", all directed against me, do not look as though the problem described above has abated or been ameliorated in the past 4+ months. As his present target, may I ask how much longer? -- SAJordan 05:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, Karen. Will did revert that deletion. M48 had done it immediately after commenting bitterly about me elsewhere, so it looks like a revenge-edit: (from his contribs, in chronological order)

  • 18:26, 10 November 2006 User talk:^demon (→Arbitration for Iran-Iraq War - Revenge of the editor)
  • 18:30, 10 November 2006 Disemvoweling (Not a valid source: two sci-fi bloggers)

"Revenge of the editor", indeed. SAJordan talkcontribs 00:19, 11 Nov 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Talk:Mickey Mouse Club

I looks like someone already removed the offending word. I put a civility tag on the user's talk page. I notice that he's made other unsourced assertions elsewhere. I'd treat it all with skepticism. Cheers, -Will Beback 07:23, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I apologize if I accidentally reverted any edit of yours. The user had been adding general discussion comments to the Spider-Man 3 talk page. I checked his contributions and tried to revert similar comments on other talk pages, but I didn't realize there was a more complicated situation going on with the Mickey Mouse Club article. I'm not sure how to handle this user, as I'm used to dealing with people who tend to add unrelevant content to articles, not their respective talk pages. Let me know if you need my input at all regarding any kind of mediation step to deal with the user appropriately. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 00:08, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes

You said: "Hi. I was just looking over your revert on A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes, and followed the link to User talk:Pumpkin Pie for the reason why. Do you mind if I reimplement that edit? It corrects the Orlando Brown wikilink, and rightly removes the extra listing for an actor who guest starred on one episode of a series. I don't have to call it a revert, if that's helpful to you. (In fact, I really should work on fleshing out the substantive part of the article, but that's not a task for tonight.) I just thought I'd check with you first - don't want to get in the middle of a mess!"

Absolutely. The key point, though, is that you would then be taking responsibility for the edit. So if for example redoing the edit introduced some slander or something, you would now be responsible. Not a problem here, of course, but I'm just letting you know. We don't let the edits from banned users remain but there's no problem having someone redo them. --Yamla 04:42, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Christmas tree

Thanks for the note; sorry, I'm far from convinced how important the information is; wikipedia doesn't generally include things like the number of suppliers (particularly not historical, and particularly not in just one region out of many), nor what shape they were available in. If it had been globally relevant information, it might have been useful, but as it was, it has precious little interest to most people. Some of your other edits on the page I thought were good though, and I kept them. One other gentle reminder please - Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National varieties of English: "Articles should use the same dialect throughout" - i.e., in this case, aluminium, metre, etc. - Thanks, MPF 23:51, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks; happy editing! - MPF 01:38, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tucson, Arizona

Odd Wiki-mechanics question here. I personally have no preference as to whether the article is called Tucson or Tucson, Arizona, but I'm a little nonplussed that it seems to have disappeared from my watchlist. The Talk:Tucson, Arizona does appear, and the watch/unwatch tab on the article says unwatch, indicating that it is still being watched. Yet despite the numerous edits made to the article tonight (some of them by me), it's not showing up on today's date. Do I need to do anything, or will it show up again after its first post-move edit? Please advise. Thanks. Karen | Talk | contribs 05:03, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, that does sound odd. My only guess is that, because the last edit was the article move, it's now hiding the article from everyone's watchlist. I know article moves themselves don't show on the watchlist but I didn't realize that they shadow previous edits as well. Try making a change to it and see if it shows back up. —Wknight94 (talk) 05:10, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Christmas Story

Mavarin... let's calm down a little bit on the removing/reallignment of information on A Christmas Story. Just waltzing through and removing other's additions with no mention of why is considered extremely rude. This isn't your article... it's our article. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bamassippi (talkcontribs) 14:37, 26 November 2006 (MST.

[edit] Thanks for catching Back to the Future timeline error

Yes I just realized that, an RC mistake and as you said the edit should stand. Thanks for catching that.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 06:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Boy meets world vandal

Hi there! I tried to revert as much of this nonsense as I could. I didn't have time to post anything to RFI because of work, but I certainly appreciate you taking notice of the situation. This is clearly an issue of sock/meatpuppetry. --NMChico24 07:24, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Peanuts

Thanks for letting me know, Karen. It's one very strange occurance of several that have happened tonight. If you think the unrefernced tag is inapproriate, go ahead and remove it, and discuss on the talk page. Thanks again, Rich Farmbrough 00:56 2 December 2006 (UTC).

Seems to have been due to this wikimedia problem. Rich Farmbrough, 22:46 2 December 2006 (GMT).

[edit] Hill Valley

You're correct in your edit summary that Whittier High School's gym might not have been used for the "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance scene. This site points out: "the school dance scene wasn't filmed at Whittier High or any other school. It was filmed in the basement of a church just north of Hollywood Boulevard", 27 miles from WHS. (See that site for specifics.) Marty's 1985 band's audition was also not filmed at WHS but at a recreation center in a Burbank park. (Details here.) Scenes filmed at WHS included other interiors and exteriors, but I don't see where the WHS gym was used in Back to the Future at all. Here's another site about the locations. Enjoy! SAJordan talkcontribs 12:10, 2 Dec 2006 (UTC).

[edit] L'Engle fictional locations

I think that an article about Fictional locations in the works of Madeleine L'Engle is a great idea! You might want to look at similar articles (say List of places in The Chronicles of Narnia or Islands of Earthsea), though since your article would cover different though intersecting series, it might have to be structured a little differently. I don't see any reason why the article should be a problem, but if anyone does propose it for deletion, let me know and I will be happy to defend it. RandomCritic 13:21, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Thurber Article

The revision is wrong he is related to Thurber. You should have just taken out the extra information. I agree with your message and think it is a good idea to move it down to a better area.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nyankzfan13 (talkcontribs) 23:04, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Reply

A Wrinkle in Time (film) needs a source that exists: I'm not doubting it exists, but articles on Wikipedia need sources. An official site or a page on Internet Movie Database (IMDB) will work. RobJ1981 05:57, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Good job on all the edits to the article. I changed it's rating to start. It's pretty close to B class (in my opinion at least), but not quite. RobJ1981 17:05, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
