Kristian Commons (born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on 30th August 1983) is a winger who currently plays for Nottingham Forest.
Kristian Commons joined the Reds at the start of the 2004 season from Stoke City. He started he career with the Potters as a trainee and spent an entire year out injured due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, shortly after his first team debut. He went on to make 20 starts and just over 20 substitute appearances, after recovering from his injury. Commons refused to sign a new contract with Stoke, much to the disappoint of the club's supporters who were angered that he had chosen to leave the club after spending so long on the sidelines.. Commons told the club he wanted to join Nottingham Forest, the club he supported as a boy, however childhood friends claimed that he was in actual fact a Manchester United supporter.
Commons believed Nottingham Forest to be more ambitious than Stoke City, however many will question the wisdom of his decision following Forest's relegation to Coca Cola League One at the end the 2004/05 season.
The skillful winger, who has the ability to score great goals, was quickly dubbed the new Andy Reid by fans and has made over 50 appearances, scoring 15 goals, most of them rather spectacular.
Despite sometimes being an inconsistent performer, who is sometimes called "fatboy" because of his stocky physique, he is still said to be one of Forests best players and has recently attracted the interest of Championship clubs like Birmingham City.
Kris was educated at Quarrydale School, Sutton-In-Ashfield.
Commons was named the FA's Player of the round for Round One of the FA Cup, with over 60% of the votes, after his superb hat-trick and match winning display against Yeading FC. In doing so, he became the first player to win the award twice in different seasons having also won it in 2005 after his performance in the 5th round against Tottenham.
