The result of the debate was move. —Nightstallion (?) 09:35, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Every official document I have read about Kids' WB! has an exclamation point at the end, and look at the logo itself! To look professional, I believe it should have a ! at the end. — Matty-chan 01:50, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Oppose Wikipedia usually does not try to imitate typographical tricks that companies impose on their names, partly because the trick is rarely the common English usage for the company, and partly because the company's ad agency could decide on a new look tomorrow, and then change its mind again in a week. The name itself is stabler. See WP:UE Septentrionalis 20:34, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

You would think so, but Kids' WB! has had the ! on their logo for ten straight years, since they were first formed. When you type Kids' WB! in the search engine, it brings you to The WB Television Network so it should redirect you to Kids' WB. And if that's so, why not just take the apostrophe off and just call it Kids WB ? Matty-chan 01:07, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

If WP tries to avoid using such typographical tricks, then why is The Rub Rabbits! named with the exclimation point? I ♥ Huckabees isn't "I Heart Huckabees." Lastly, Clerks. has the full stop in there. - Hbdragon88 23:10, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stub

Does anyone think this article is no longer a stub? I and several others have greatly expanded it. What do you think? Matty-chan 14:48, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Not really a stub, but should be cleaned up at least.

How do you use the cleanup tag again? I forgot. Matty-chan 21:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

I think if the Notable Promotions section is cleaned up and itemized a bit more, the cleaning of the page will be complete.--Dleav 16:07, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Kids' WB on the CW"

User:Mrschimpf, the article you cite isn't focused on the name, and I don't believe it necessarily indicates any name just because of the way it phrases the name. I could just as easily read it as being "Kids' WB!" on the CW, indicating no name change. Morgan Wick 00:35, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Looks like you were right on that, I did a research on the woman named in the press release on Google News and came up with this article on TVWeek noting that the block's name would remain Kids' WB, and it was cited as being posted only 50 minutes after I made this talk comment. My apologies, I took the previous article as being the offical name from the way it was written. - Nate 05:06, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
I said I could just as easily read it that way, not that I did. However, I wanted a source that was as clear as possible, and I found one: [1]. I don't think plain old "Kids' WB" is awkward at all. (What is it with B&C and TV Week not putting it in quotes or italics?) Morgan Wick 02:57, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
I found even more confusion here in a KWB sked press release on Futon Critic, which interchanges Kids' WB! on the CW with Kids' WB! only throughout the press release, with the use of both names very inconsistent, and this is with the network's own story. At this point it might be September before we find out what the dang block's true name is, these sources and the network need to come up with a consistent name, period. - Nate 05:35, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm guessing it's actually still going to be inconsistent in September; i.e., it'll refer to itself as "Kids' WB on CW" some of the time and just "Kids' WB" the rest of the time. But that press release doesn't use quotes (aargh!) and uses the long name only in both headlines and in one mention in the article. I'm tempted to strike all references per Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, but at this point I'm going to add a new section based on the press release. I'll do that at around 6:30 PDT. Morgan Wick 00:57, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
You did as good a job you could with the explanation of the future lineup even with how the names are interchanged right now, it's a great article section. At this point the name is undecided, but at least the lineup is set in stone, and you know it'll still remain casually known as Kids' WB no matter what the official name is. I'm sure they'll have a mention of it during the May upfront presentation for the CW itself so we'll also get a sense of the branding then with the kids' block. Nate 06:50, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pokémon airdate

I would like to ask that people stop editing the original airdate of Pokémon to September 7, 1998. It says that the original airdate is limited to Kids' WB! only. I know it premiered in September 1998, but in syndication - Kids' WB! did not have the show at the time. If you noticed, look at the airdates for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Transformers Cybertron. Foster's premiered on August 13, 2004 and Cybertron premiered on July 2, 2005, and are still on, but on Cartoon Network, not WB. If you want, then use the additional network notes to put note of that. Matty-chan 11:21, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Whoever is the stupididest user switching September 1998 to February 1999 airdate, YOU ARE WRONG!!!! I don't care if this applies to KidsWB! "Pokemon I Choose You" is the first episode, NOT "The Problem With Paras". I don't care if that's the first episode all because of the 1997 incident in Japan. The syndication means nothing! You can always say it was aired on February 1999, but I will switch it back to September 1998 if I desire and mark my words... IT IS NOT CONSIDERED AS VANDALISM FOR THE LAST TIME!!! SWITCHING IT BACK TO 1999 IS VANDALISM!!! So think again!

OK, that's a different point. It doesn't matter what the first episode is, look at Viewtiful Joe. "Howdy, Partner" is not the first episode, it's the 5th. But it aired on November 5, 2005, where as "Just a Dude Named Joe", the real first episode, aired on December 16, 2005. So why don't we change Viewtiful Joe's date to December 16? Another country probably will air "Just a Dude Named Joe" first, plus that's the first episode to be released on DVD. Because "Howdy, Partner" was the first episode to air on Kids' WB!, not "Just a Dude Named Joe".

And yes, it is vandalism b/c it says right there:

(The dates in parentheses are given for how long the show has been airing on Kids' WB!, repeats included, regardless of airings on other networks)

And... I'm going to add back the dates for the past shows, but if you noticed as I said, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends aired August 13, 2004 originally, while Transformers Cybertron aired July 2, 2005, so why didn't you ever change those dates? I mean, it wasn't on Kids' WB!, but they were still airing, right? Because as I said, it is regardless of other networks. If you want to change that, we should change those too and remove that note, but that wouldn't make sense since this is the Kids' WB! article. Go to the article that lists shows for the respective network to do that, or better yet, the articles for the individual shows themselves! Matty-chan 23:44, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Whoever wrote that, you are WRONG! THIS IS THE LAST TIME I SAY THIS! I DON'T CARE IF IT DON'T APPLY FOR THE FIRST EPISODE. YES IT DOES! POKEMON WAS NOT AIRED IN 1999, BUT 1998. I WILL SWITCH IT BACK TO 1998! IF ANYONE DARES TO SWITCH IT BACK TO 1999, IT WILL BE REPORTED AS VANDALISM! YOU HEARD ME! VANDALISM!

Well, I put that it is for Kids' WB!, which applied to all the shows. If you don't care about the WB date, then obviously you don't care about the rules, and maybe you shouldn't be editing stuff on Wikipedia. Matty-chan 03:59, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Maybe YOU shouldn't edit anything at all, MattyChan! You don't care about the rules! I DO! You vandalized the KidsWB section. Pokemon aired on 1998, NOT 1999!

Okay, there are a couple of things here that need to be addressed:

  • Sign your comments-- seriously, dude, it makes it hard to distinguish who wrote what without doing that.
  • Typing in all caps LIKE THIS and directing it at someone is considered "yelling" and is extremely rude.

But on the subject, I agree with MattyChan. If some show begins airing on one channel before another, the two airdates are not the same. An airdate applies to the date a show premieres on a specific channel-- if you look on the articles of shows on multiple channels, they'll list every different airdate. Yeah, I know I'm saying this a little late, but I felt this needed to be said. Henshin-A-Go-Go 00:47, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fall Programming

Is it necessary to keep the heading coming this fall, when you already have the lineup for the new season under the CW network?--Dleav 16:59, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, especially when the dates are revealed I will add them, and it's nice to have all the shows in one big list. Matty-chan 21:21, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: infobox

This clearly isn't a cable network. What should we put in the "Type" field? Morgan Wick 03:28, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

How's "Saturday morning cartoon block" sound? Matty-chan 10:37, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Details

These details were removed, but I think they shouldn't be. There's what episode will be the coming week, if it's a kind of premiere, and the dates of the past shows. Should these be re-added? I think also for the schedule, I should do as the Toonami article does. Matty-chan 13:22, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it's necessary to have them--Dleav 16:39, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Kids' WB Shows

To aid in the cleanup effort, do you think that we should make a separate page for shows that have shown on Kids' WB, but leave the shows that are currenltly active on the main page?--Dleav 18:10, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

  • That's not a bad idea. In fact, then we could put the dates and stuff as well. Matty-chan 23:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kansas City

When KCWE In Kansas City Joins the CW, Will They Have Kids' WB As Well?

  • Yes, and please sign your posts with 4 tildes (~~~~). Matty-chan 23:35, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spider Riders

No, Spider Riders is not currently airing in America (there seems to be confusion over this). --Libertyernie2 16:59, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
