Le United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM, aussi écourté en SOCOM dans la culture populaire) est un des dix Unified Combattant Command dépendant du Département de la Défense des États-Unis (DoD). L'USSOCOM commande les différentes forces spéciales américaines (Special Operations Forces ou SOF) ainsi que les commandements d’opérations spéciales (Special Operations Commands, ou SOC) des différents commandements régionaux du Unified Combattant Command.
L'USSOCOM a son Quartier Général à MacDill Air Force Base à Tampa en Floride.

Chaque « SOC » est indépendant et en mesure de conduire ses propres opérations. Quand les différents SOC ont besoin de travailler ensemble pour une opération, le SOCOM devient le JCC de cette opération, au lieu d’avoir un SOC pour chaque branche spécifique.

- Special Boat Squadron 1 (Naval Special Warfare Craft-Crewmen, Naval Air Base Coronado, Californie)
- Special Boat Squadron 2 (Naval Special Warfare Craft-Crewmen, Naval Air Base Little Creek, Virginie)
[modifier] US Marine Corps Special Operations Command
L'US Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) est actuellement en cours de constitution. Il a précédement détaché à l'USSOCOM une unité de 86 hommes, le MARSOC Detachment One (DET 1 ou Det One, basé à Del Mar, Californie), de 2003 à 2005.
A terme, cette nouvelle branche des Forces Spéciales américaines devrait compter entre 2 500 et 2 600 hommes (cf. revue RAIDS n°242, juillet 2006).
Son organigramme prévu est :
- Etat-major au Camp Lejeune, Californie;
- Marine Special Operations Regiment ;
- Marine Special Operations Support Group, avec un effectif de 400 hommes ;
- 24 Foreign Military Training Units (FMTU) pour un total de 400 hommes ;
- Un centre d'instruction au Camp Lejeune, Californie.
La force vive de ce commandement sera représenté par le Marine Special Operations Regiment. Il comprendra 9 compagnies réparties dans 2 bataillons d'opérations spéciales : l'un sera stationné au Camp Lejeune, Caroline du Nord, et l'autre au Camp Pendleton, Californie.
Le US Coast Guard n’a pas de contribution à l'USSOCOM.
