Fortune Faded is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was released in 2003 as a single, to coincide with the release of their Greatest Hits album.
The song Fortune Faded was first played live by the Red Hot Chili Peppers at a few concerts in August 2001 in Europe, however it didn't make it on the following album By The Way, released (2002). The b-side, "Bunker Hill" was recorded for Californication though never released. The Live album Live in Hyde Park (2004) contains a live version of Fortune Faded. A music video was recorded for Fortune Faded, and it was added to their Greatest Hits (2003).

It should be noted that the second version of the single, with blue writing instead of red on the cover art, was never released in the UK due to last minute complications. Apparently the second disc was too long to be classed as a single, as UK Chart singles must not last over 20 minutes in length.
