Dhani Harrison

Dhani Harrison (born August 1, 1978) is the son of The Beatles' George Harrison and his second wife, Olivia Trinidad Arias. They married a month after his birth on September 2. His name (pronounced similarly to the name 'Danny') is named after two notes of the Indian music scale, 'dha' and 'ni'. It is often noted that Dhani bears an uncanny resemblance to his father. In fact, Paul McCartney was once quoted as saying that, according to Olivia Harrison, at the Concert for George in which Dhani participated with a number of his father's musician friends, it looked like "George stayed young and [the other musicians performing] got old."[1] Dhani inherited most of his father's wealth, making him the richest music millionaire under 30.

Dhani, like his father, is a guitarist. However, he plays many more instruments, including drums, piano, Wurlitzer organ, synthesizer, and ukulele. After George's death from cancer on November 29, 2001, Dhani participated in a concert in his memory organized by Eric Clapton, called Concert For George, which took place on November 29, 2002, exactly one year after George's death. The musicians included some of George's best friends, Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Ringo Starr, Jim Keltner, Paul McCartney, Albert Lee, Joe Brown, and members of Monty Python. Dhani played rhythm guitar for most of the concert.
Following the death of his father in November 2001, Dhani, in collaboration with Jeff Lynne completed George's final album, Brainwashed, which was released in 2002. [1]
In a report The Sun linked Dhani with former Stone Roses member John Squire and Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher. Purportedly, they were starting a band with Dhani as the guitarist, Squire as the songwriter, and Gallagher as the vocalist; however, a spokesperson for Gallagher denied these rumours: The welcome heat of Sunday's weather in London must have got to the editorial staff at The Sun newspaper, so much so that they dreamed up a bizarre story about Liam Gallagher forming a supergroup with John Squire..
In March 2006, Dhani Harrison made a guest appearance on Liam Lynch's Podcast Video Variety Show Lynchland [2]They performed a duet that will appear on an upcoming Lynch album.
In April 2006, it was announced that Dhani Harrison's band, called "Thenewno2" had begun to record music. Band members are Dhani on lead guitar, synths and vocals; Oli Hecks on drums and synths; Scott Seiver on keyboards; Holland Greco on vocals; Josh Lopez on guitar; and Jawnee Burkes on Bass. The band's website features clips from several songs and a music video for a song entitled "Choose What You're Watching". The website says the band is "currently rehearsing" and that there's "more to come". Oli Hecks previously worked with Dhani on the cover art for Brainwashed.

Dhani grew up with his parents in Henley-on-Thames, in Friar Park, the mansion which George lived in since 1970 and in which Dhani and Olivia still reside.[citation needed]
One of Dhani's earlier memories, at the age of 6, is receiving a drumming lesson from his father's friend, drummer Ringo Starr. He recalled that before the "lesson", he had been an avid drummer and had shown an immense amount of skill for a child his age.[citation needed] However, when Ringo began to play, the loud noise frightened him so terribly that he never used his drum kit again.[citation needed]
Dhani, like his father, showed a keen interest in Formula One auto racing. He often accompanied his father to various Grands Prix around the world.[citation needed]
After graduating from university, Dhani pursued a career as an aerodynamicist. However, this career turned out not to suit him as well as he had hoped. His focus in recent months has been on music.[citation needed]

Dhani attended a primary school in Henley-on-Thames called Badgemore Primary and later, the Dolphin School near Twyford, where he was taught in the Montessori method.[citation needed] He later attended Shiplake College, also near Henley, where he showed a keen interest in the sport of rowing.[citation needed]
Dhani Harrison is an alumnus of Brown University, where he studied Physics and Industrial Design.[citation needed]

For several years, Harrison has been linked to/involved with Beth Earl, the daughter of the founder of Planet Hollywood, Robert Earl. They were last seen together at the premiere of LOVE (Cirque du Soleil).
The Sun newspaper, in England, also linked Harrison to the former S Club 7 singer Tina Barrett, although these claims do not seem to have been substantiated.[citation needed]
