Craig Adair

Craig Adair (born Trevor Craig Adair McDonnell in 1968 in Toronto, Canada) attended the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto in the 1990s. His paintings are easily recognized by the use of abstract shapes that converge into near-photorealistic images when viewed from a distance. This artist's portfolio is decidedly split into two themes: landscapes and sports. Craig Adair's landscape paintings comment upon the procedures and effects of mining and drilling by large oil and mineral corporations. His sports paintings, however, are concerned only with the activities and personalities they portray and show no concern for planetary issues. It is this contrast in themes that make salient a dichotomy in human preoccupations.
Craig Adair has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout North America[citation needed]. Two European shows are slated for the beginning of 2007, one in Austria and one in Spain.
