Corona (musical project)

Corona is an Italian musical project that was popular in the dance music scene in mid 90s.
The first project song was The Rhythm Of The Night. It was released in Italy in December 1993 on the DWA record label, and became an instant hit. It stayed at #1 on the Italian music charts for thirteen consecutive weeks. However, the song was not released elsewhere until the following year. Like other early 90's Eurodance songs that eventually became American hits as well, such as Get Ready For This by 2 Unlimited and Strike It Up by Black Box, The Rhythm Of The Night did not catch on in America until well after its success had peaked in Europe. By the spring of 1995, however, the song was all over American radio and clubs. Corona followed up its smash hit with the 1995 singles Baby Baby, Try Me Out, and I Don't Wanna Be A Star, as well as the album The Rhythm Of The Night. These songs got in to the top charts in many countries.
Corona's second album was released in 1998 on independent label of Francesco Bontempi. The album didn't produce any top hits. In 2000 Olga Souza released third Corona album, and this time on Abril Music label in Brazil. Francesco Bontempi cowrote some of the songs on the album, but he didn't participate in albums's production. The album was called And Me U and Corona name was changed to Corona X.
During the end of 2005 Corona re-emerged onto the European music scene with Back In Time which doesn't seem to have took off anywhere.Some websites were still advertising the track in mid-2006 perhaps meaning that it is still being released throughout Europe and some European radio stations have been giving the track airplay.
