Colorado Z (aka Zachary Schwing) is a native of Colorado. After spending much time overseas he returned to this great state and spends a large portion of his time exploring its varied landscapes and studying a bit of its equally varied history.
He also has a substantial library of modern English and foreign literature, science fiction, and philosophy. He enjoys reading very much, lately he has ... ok the second person pronounspeak is becoming tiresome. Lately, I have been interested in reading as much of science fiction author Ursula LeGuin as possible. Her novels are really well constructed social and political criticisms within the context of space travel. This is especially true of her Hain series. I have also become interested in a little book entitled "Die Flucht" about the emptying of eastern Europe of people of German descent at the close of World War II.
I speak/read German rather well, having spent three years there. There as here, I spent a lot of time hiking and exploring its less exposed corners. I have long term visions of adding some of my knowledge of the castle ruins in Rheinland-Pfalz and northern Alsace to Wikipedia's English section.
I also spent some time in China, but the language is fast slipping from my mind. I do not use it daily, so it exists like some rare and nearly extinct language group in the deep jungle of neurons and dendrites toward the back and deepest darkest middle of my brain. At the peak of my Chinese knowledge, I was able to say a few words in very cryptic and oddly pronounced Shanghai dialect. ColoradoZ
