Cascades Shopping Centre

Cascades Shopping Centre is an indoor shopping development in Portsmouth, England. It was built in the early 1990s and links Commercial Road with Charlotte Street and the former Tricorn Centre. The Cascades has approximately 75 retail units covering a wide range of goods and services. The Centre is now going through a major revamp operation which includes removing the food court and glass elevators.

Almost all of the retailers in the complex are chain shops, which can be found in most other urban high streets, contributing to Portsmouth's labeling as a "clone town". The architectural style of the buildings is now quite dated, however even when The Cascades opened it was criticised in the Portsmouth News as looking like a mid 80s construction.
