Skirmisher - a light rifleman good against musketeers but week against cavalry
Musketeer - a good, all around unit with no particular weaknesses
Pikeman - an archaic infantry good against cavalry but weak against ranged units and artillery
Halberdier - a heavily armoured infantry good against cavalry but weak against ranged units and artillery
Highlander - a mercenary musketeer
Doppelsoldner - an elite, two handed swordsman. unique unit to the German civilization
Longbowman - a long range, anti-infantry archer. a unique unite to the British civilization
Corsair - a mercenary from the Barbary Coast armed with a sword
Janissary - the Ottoman version of the Musketeer, except stronger and tougher but slower

Hussar - a standard, light cavalry unit. good against artillery and light infantry
Dragoon - an anti-cavalry cavalry unit
Uhlan - a hard hitting unit armed with cold steel. weak hitpoints. German unique unit
Cossack - a weak, cheap cavalry unit available only to the Russians
Cavalry Archer - an anti-cavalry cavalry availible to the Russians and Ottomans
