Ascension Elementary School (Kentucky)

Ascension Elementary School is a Catholic School serving grades PreK-8 within the Archdiocese of Louisville. Sports teams play under the moniker "The Ascension Longhorns" and are known as a football and basketball powerhouse. The Class of 1998's football players never saw a defeat in 4 years of play, capturing 4 Toy Bowl titles and going 40-0. More importantly, the class of 1997 has gone down in history as legends on not only the gridiron, but also in basketball.
It is located in the St. Regis Park section of Louisville, and serves about 370 students. The principal is Mrs. Mary Jo Ellis who directs a staff of 35 teachers plus supporting staff. In addition to core curriculum classes, students attend art, music, computer, PE, and Spanish classes.
