Anthony G. Brown (born November 21, 1961, in Huntington, New York) is an American politician from Maryland. ^[1][2] He is a delegate representing District 25 (part of Prince George's County) in the Maryland General Assembly. On November 7, 2006, Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley and Brown were elected Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, respectively. He is the second African American Lt. Gov. of Maryland as well as the second elected statewide.

Brown graduated from Harvard University in 1984 with a B.A. degree in government, and from Harvard Law School in 1992. He served as an aviation officer in the United States Army from 1984 to 1989. He has been in the United States Army Reserve since 1989 and has served in Iraq.

Brown has served in the House of Delegates since January 13, 1999, and has been Majority Whip since 2004. He has been a member of the Judiciary Committee since 2003—serving as vice-chairman from 2003 to 2004—and has also served on the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics since 2000.

Brown has been mentioned as a possible candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010, should the incumbent democrat, Barbara Ann Mikulski, retire.
